Anjan Katta is founder and CEO of Daylight Computer Co., maker of the DC-1 — a 60fps black-and-white tablet with a reflective LivePaper display that uses sunlight as its backlight and avoids the blue-light hit of conventional LCDs and OLEDs. A 2016 Stanford grad in medical device technology, Katta started Daylight in 2018 after struggling with seasonal affective disorder and screen-induced eye strain. He spent six-plus years and roughly $10M building a new display category, repeatedly rejected by mainstream investors and forced to fund the company through unconventional channels. The DC-1 has become a cult product among writers, students, and digital-minimalism advocates. He's now extending Daylight into a broader product line and platform around what he calls a more caring computer.
